How can embodied experience in furniture design be enhanced to create more meaningful interactions between users and objects?

Solace is a furniture set that creates space for its users to withdraw from the intensity of daily life, offering a moment of stillness and allowing them to reconnect with themselves.

Each element is designed to engage the senses and is rooted in hands-on material exploration. The low chair grounds the body through its conforming form, its low position, and its hidden hand-carved texture. The handwoven rug forms a tactile extension of the chair, bringing the legs and feet into direct contact with contrasting wool textures. Complementing both is a hand-blown glass piece that engages the sense of smell, allowing water and essential oils to diffuse a relaxing scent.

Through this multisensory experience, Solace aims to foster more meaningful interactions between users and objects.
